Why work with a Cyprus-based AI consultancy?
A Cyprus-based AI consultancy works in your time zone, can sit in the room for workshops, and already knows the local landscape: the supervisors (CySEC, the Central Bank of Cyprus, the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection), the bilingual Greek–English reality of local documents, and the business models that dominate the island's economy.
- Same time zone, same island. In-person discovery and reviews in Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca or Paphos.
- Greek and English. Workshops, documentation and AI systems in either language.
- EU jurisdiction. GDPR, the EU AI Act and DORA apply to us as they apply to you.
- Fintech fluency. We understand how CIFs, brokers, payment and e-money institutions operate and are supervised.
Cyprus's tech economy in numbers
Technology is now one of the largest parts of the Cypriot economy. A study by KPMG for TechIsland, published in June 2026, found that the tech sector contributed 16.2% of GDP (€5.9 billion) directly in 2025 and employed 48,200 people directly, with tech employment growing 9.7% a year between 2016 and 2025.
Cyprus also moved its corporate income tax rate to 15% from 1 January 2026 as part of a wider tax reform, while keeping an IP box regime under which 80% of qualifying profit from intellectual property is exempt. For the many tech and fintech companies that have set up on the island, the next step is turning their data into a competitive advantage.
Which AI rules apply to companies in Cyprus?
As an EU member state, Cyprus applies EU regulations directly. The EU AI Act governs how AI systems are built and used, with high-risk obligations for uses such as credit scoring applying from 2 December 2027. GDPR governs personal data, supervised in Cyprus by the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection. For financial entities, DORA has applied since 17 January 2025 and covers how they contract with technology providers, including AI consultancies.
